There are four SSSI sites within or adjacent to the Board’s district

(i) Mattersey Hill Marsh
(ii) Misson Line Bank
iii) Chesterfield Canal and
(iv) River Idle Washlands SSSI

The Board has not been required to produce Water Level Management Plans for any of the watercourses which are adjacent to the SSSI sites.

The Board has been a partner in the production of the Water Level Management Plan (WLMP) for the River Idle Washlands SSSI.

This plan is ultimately the responsibility of the Environment Agency.
