Maintenance

The Board employs two operatives who carry out all the day-to-day routine maintenance of the Board’s watercourses including the operation of the Board’s pumping station at Wiseton.

The Board’s men also carry out works for the Everton, Armthorpe and Tickhill IDBs. In the case of the Everton IDB this also includes the operation of that Boards two pumping stations.

The annual weedcutting and flailing works are carried out by contractors. As a general principle these works generally commence in July following harvest. However this principle is being reviewed in the case of strategic watercourses.

Capital.

The Board carried out a major refurbishment of the Wiseton pumping station in 1998/9. The pumps were originally installed in the late 1940’s.

The Board are now engaged in the provision of an automatic weedscreen cleaner at this station.
